On Saturday, 18 April 2026, WPFSD successfully held its first official meeting for WordPress contributors at the Career Institute, Batala Colony branch. During the session, we onboarded and confirmed our first group of ten contributors who committed to contributing to WordPress over the next six months. The meeting was led by Adnan Hyder, who introduced participants to the Work Time by WPKitchen program and provided an overview of WordPress contribution opportunities and community involvement.
We are grateful to the WordPress Community Support Program for supporting our initiative by subsidizing workspaces for contributors. The program will officially begin in May 2026 and continue until October 2026.
In the initial phase, contributors will focus on several contribution areas, including WordPress photo submissions, plugin and theme translations, contributor learning courses, core contributions, and building a community-focused plugin. The initiative aims to create a stronger contribution culture in Faisalabad and encourage more local professionals to actively participate in the global WordPress ecosystem through collaboration, learning, and long-term community engagement activities together.
